Encore Payment Systems Introduces the Check 21 Capability Update to Clear Charge POS Software
Addison, TX. – August, 31 2009 - Addison, TX based Encore Payment Systems, www.EncorePS.com, a leader in the electronic payment processing industry, recently announced the roll out of a major update to Clear Charge, its feature point of sale software. Check 21 capabilities are built into the auto-update feature that began implementation for Encore Payment Systems merchants this month.
Clear Charge is POS software that, when installed on any computer, enables it to become a fully-functioning payment processing terminal. Clear Charge can process credit, debit, checks, EBT and gift and loyalty cards. Clear Charge is PCI and PED compliant because it does not store cardholder data on the machine through utilization of host data capture. Check 21, also known as the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act, was enacted in October 2004 and allows checks to be deposited electronically and scanned to capture the image, which speeds up fund transfers and makes accepting checks more secure.

With the newest update Clear Charge becomes Check 21 capable with a Check Imager. Clear Charge enables dual-sided images with a check imager so merchants can easily retain a copy of both the front and back of a check for their records. Clear Charge was also recently updated with multi-merchant capabilities, making it possible for Clear Charge to process up to 9 different merchant accounts on one system.
